JITTERBUGS

If you’ve ever looked at your child and marvelled at how quickly they’ve grown, how much they’ve learned and how curious they are, then you understand why two is the perfect age to introduce your little one to the world of music in a way that will keep them engaged, encourage their sense of wonder and expression, and set them up for a lifelong journey with music.

Jitterbugs class for 2-year-olds is the perfect way to open your little one’s ears and develop their voice.

As your Jitterbug sings, dances, plays and performs, they are gaining a strong foundation in musical skills like active listening, rhythm and beat, loud vs. soft, and high vs. low; as well as developing non-musical understandings, such as sharing and communicating, and motor skills.

Watch their confidence blossom and their love for music awaken as they teach you the actions to their favourite songs, and with a download of all the original music used in the Jitterbugs classroom, you can be sure you’ll be hearing our unique Jitterbugs music over and over again! While our Jitterbugs classes might look like fun and games, it is underpinned by a solid educational philosophy and delivered by trained and highly experienced musicians and educators.

You and your Jitterbugs will always be warmly welcomed by your class teacher, and each class starts by shouting “a big hello” in the Jitterbugs Song. Then, the class weaves through an exciting musical journey. Each week is based on a different theme, for example lion week, red week or balloons week. You will sing lots of songs, mostly from the Jitterbugs unique collection of original songs written specifically for this course and based on the weekly themes. There are also plenty of dances to learn – we usually find your little one will be able to teach you the actions after a few weeks!

Playing percussion is always a big highlight, and we have a wide variety of instruments for your child to master, played to a variety of preschool songs and classical music which introduce your child to new sounds and ways of listening.

Each Jitterbug gets a gorgeous Jitterbugs book, filled with fun stories and weekly craft for you to share with your little one. At the end of each class your child will get a sticker in their book, and everybody sings the Jitterbugs ‘Goodbye Song’. Then it’s time to go home, which is harder than it sounds – with so many exciting activities packed into half an hour, our Jitterbugs usually don’t want to leave!

After Jitterbugs, children can proceed to the Beebopper program. Our Beebopper course is set in a similar group environment, with a greater emphasis on fine motor control, musical concepts and pre-reading activities.
